Parish Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week

SAN FRANCISCO -- Sophomore Joey Parish of the No. 11 University of Washington men's soccer team was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week announced today by the conference office.
Parish, who did not see action Friday against New Mexico, recorded a goal and assist Sunday in Washington's 2-0 win over Loyola Marymount. The Redmond, Wash. native entered the game in the 67th minute and made an immediate impact.
In a scoreless tie, the Huskies were finally able to break through in the 76th minute when Parish gathered a throw in from senior Justin Fiddes and spun to his right, scoring with his left foot to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
Parish helped Washington extend its lead in the 82nd minute sending a beautiful ball through to sophomore Handwalla Bwana who scored in a breakaway situation.
This is Parish's first career weekly honor and Washington's 35th all-time. Parish played in 12 games last season, starting one match and recording one goal.
