
Pan to Represent Chinese Taipei at 2016 Summer Olympics

SEATTLE â Former Washington men's golf standout Cheng-Tsung Pan has been selected to represent Chinese Taipei in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio next month. Golf will make its return to the Summer Olympics for the first time since 1904 and Pan will be one of two from Chinese Taipei competing in the 72-hole stroke play event August 11-14.

Pan most recently tied for second at the Web.com Peek N' Peak tournament which moved him up the World Golf Rankings to No. 256. His purse for the championship also jumped him to No. 17 on the Web.com money list where if he finishes inside the top 25, he will earn a PGA Tour card for 2016-17.

Pan finished his UW career in 2014-15 as one of the most decorated to ever compete for the Huskies. He was a four-time Hogan Award semifinalist, the first in the award's history and finished as the NCAA runner-up as a senior. He was a four-time All-Pac-12 team selection and finished his career with 26 top 10 showings, the third most in school history.
