July 12, 2016 | Football
SEATTLE - The University of Washington department of intercollegiate athletics will hold three fan engagement events prior to the 2016 Husky Football season. Dawgs Under The Stars, Husky Picture Day and Raise the Woof will all provide unique opportunities for UW supporters to interact with the Washington football program in anticipation of the upcoming season.
Dawgs Under The Stars returns for a second year, and invites Husky Football Season Ticket Holders and their families to watch a movie, Finding Nemo, on the Husky Hi-Def board Friday, July 22, before sleeping over on the Husky Stadium game field. Season Ticket Holders must RSVP in advance with the Husky Ticket Office as space is limited.
A longtime fan tradition, Husky Picture Day, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13. Picture Day offers fans the chance to view an open practice and take a picture with their favorite Dawgs at Husky Stadium. Fans are invited to watch practice from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., and are then welcomed onto the field from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. to interact with Husky Football student-athletes and coaches. Parking and admission is free to all.
Raise the Woof, the Kickoff Celebration of Husky Football, serves as a final fan rally prior to the season's kickoff and showcases the 2016 Huskies in a unique light. Held in the Dempsey Indoor Practice Facility on Saturday, Aug. 27, Raise the Woof features a barbecue dinner, hosted beer, wine and soft drinks, and a reception time with coaches and student-athletes. Ticket pricing and information can be found at GoHuskies.com/RaisetheWoof.
The Huskies will open the 2016 season at home against Rutgers on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Husky Stadium. Season Tickets and 4-Game Partial Plans are on sale now at GoHuskies.com/PartialPlans.
