
Plum Headed To Connecticut For NCAA/ESPN Media Day

SEATTLE – University of Washington senior guard Kelsey Plum is one of six NCAA Division I women's basketball players selected to participate in Women's Basketball Media Day hosted by the NCAA and ESPN that will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 1, on the ESPN campus in Bristol, Conn.
Plum was selected among a "Starting Six" of the top student-athletes for the 2016-17 season. Other players include Diamond DeShields (Tennessee), Kelsey Mitchell (Ohio State), Leticia Romero (Florida State), Brianna Turner (Notre Dame) and A'ja Wilson (South Carolina). They'll be joined by six head coaches: Karen Aston (Texas), Geno Auriemma (UConn), Cori Close (UCLA), Muffet McGraw (Notre Dame), Dawn Staley (South Carolina) and Jeff Walz (Louisville).
Women's Basketball Media Day will include coach and student-athlete appearances on a number of ESPN shows throughout the day, including SportsCenter, Mike & Mike, His & Hers and First Take. Additional content, including stories and video interviews will be available on espnW. ESPN.com, Front Rowe, NCAA media and social media outlets will also produce original content.
Plum became the first WBCA All-American in program history last season, averaging 25.9 points per game which led the Pac-12 and ranked fourth nationally. She led the nation in minutes played (1,414), free throws made (266) and free throws attempted (299) while leading the team in assists (4.16). The Poway, Calif. native has 2,418 points, a Washington record that ranks fourth in Pac-12 history.
