SEATTLE - The University of Washington has released the latest renderings of the Husky Stadium renovation today, along with a fly-over video which provides a general vision of the stadium after the renovation. The renderings and fly-over have been generated by local developer Wright Runstad & Co., who will lead the development team for the renovation.

"We wanted to provide a general vision for what the stadium will look like after the renovation," Scott Woodward, UW athletic director said. "We may still make adjustments to these plans, but it's exciting to get an idea of what the home of Husky football will look like going into the future. "

The designs represented in the renderings are subject to change, as UW and Wright Runstad & Co. have yet to formally agree to a predevelopment agreement. However, university officials feel that the renderings present a generally accurate representation of the final appearance of Husky Stadium after the renovation is complete.

Alongside the latest renderings, the university released a flyover video which uses motion-graphics to simulate the appearance of a renovated Husky Stadium. A Frequently Asked Questions document was also introduced.

HUSKY STADIUM RENOVATION: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND TIMELINES

Q: WHY ARE YOU RENOVATING HUSKY STADIUM?
There are several key reasons for the renovation. Husky Stadium currently faces some significant safety concerns and operational challenges which need to be fixed. In order to keep Husky Stadium fully functional and safe, we need to address these concerns and challenges.

Husky Stadium has historically been known as one of the finest college football venues in the country. A scenic landscape on the banks of Lake Washington and its iconic structure have made Husky Stadium one of the most unique football settings in America. However, in order to maintain that reputation, continue to attract top-caliber recruits, and provide our fanbase with a first-class college football experience, we need to renovate the facility.

It is also important to remember that the football program at UW generates the majority of the department's revenue. The Husky Stadium renovation is a long-term investment which will benefit all student-athletes at the University of Washington.

Q: WHAT IS THE GENERAL SCOPE OF THE PROJECT?
While design details are still being finalized, we do know quite a bit about the scope of the project. Highlights of the renovation include:
• The lower bowl and southside stands (originally constructed in 1950) will be completely demolished and reconstructed
• Premium seating opportunities, including suites, loge boxes, and club seating will be added to the facility
• A state-of-the-art football operations building, including team meeting rooms, recruiting facilities and coaches offices will be incorporated into the west end of the stadium.
• The field will be lowered approximately four feet to bring seating closer to the playing surface and improve sightlines.
• The track will be removed and relocated to another site on-campus.

Q: WHAT WILL IT COST?
The estimated project cost of the Husky Stadium Renovation is $250 million.

Q: HOW WILL THE RENOVATION BE FUNDED?
The athletic department will fund the project through a combination of a philanthropic gifts, and new annual revenues including premium seating, Tyee Club donations and season tickets.

Q: HOW MUCH WILL SEASON TICKETS COST?
Our staff is working right now to identify price points for seating the renovated stadium. Pricing for premium seating, as well as season tickets will be released in the fall of 2011.

Fall 2010 - Fall 2013: Major gift and naming rights solicitation
March 2011: Goal: $25 million in major gift pledges
Fall 2011: Pricing models announced premium seating and club donor seating

July 14, 2010: Deadline for proposal submissions
August 6, 2010: Wright Runstad & Co. selected as development team
