SEATTLE - The University of Washington, ISP Sports and CBS College Sports today announced the launch of the newly redesigned online destination for Washington Athletics, www.GoHuskies.com.

The UW athletic department has enjoyed a relationship with CBS College Sports since February, 1998 when GoHuskies.com was designed and launched with CBS's predecessor - University Netcasting / FANSonly / CSTV. The site has undergone numerous changes since that time but has always served as the official source of information for the Washington Husky athletics program.

"Technology is such a big part of what we do and how we communicate every day," said UW football coach Steve Sarkisian. "Our fans, recruits and our staff are so technically savvy these days that we have to do our best to remain ahead of the curve in our communication methods. I think it is important that we continue to take a hard look at what we are doing, how we are doing it and make sure it serves the Husky nation in the most complete and innovative ways."

GoHuskies.com will continue to serve as the centerpiece to the athletic department's communications efforts. In addition to serving as the most complete online destination for Husky fans, the site will also integrate its social initiatives- such as direct links to each sport's Facebook and Twitter feeds and the department's official YouTube site.

Several months ago, the department launched a "Dawg Blawg," which will be expanded to sports-specific blogs that provide a unique insight into each of the UW's 21 sport programs. In addition, the popular CoachSark.com site will be available directly off the football page on GoHuskies.com - with the two sites working together to keep fans apprised of the latest developments from the Husky football program.

A few key features of the new site are:

Enhanced Navigation, Graphics and Design - It will be easier than ever for fans to follow their favorite Husky teams with a site that is easier than ever to navigate and find the most up to date information.

Washington Photo Store - Washington has partnered with ReplayPhotos.com and CBS College Sports to offer Husky fans the opportunity to purchase high-quality reprints of Washington Athletics photographs online. ReplayPhotos.com is a premier photo commerce provider. Keep an eye out for sellable photos by viewing photo galleries wherever they appear on GoHuskies.com. Only certain photos can be made available for resale.

Dawg Channel All Access - The most comprehensive coverage of Washington Athletics is Dawg Channel All Access. Get the games, highlights, press conferences and coach's shows you want - all in one place. The new and improved all-access interface makes viewing live games and accessing additional content easier than ever before.

Official Online Store - Fans and alumni can purchase official Washington licensed products from Washington's official online store - the Husky Team Shop.

Calendar and Scoreboards - Weekly events calendar highlighting upcoming Washington athletic events appears prominently on the front page of GoHuskies.com, enabling fans and alumni nationwide to keep track of who is playing where. The daily scoreboard is constantly updated and provides fans with the latest results. Fans can also download schedules and import them directly into their computer or PDA.

Updated Design - The new design features rotating stories on the front page with an even larger photo layout. Also new, the site maintains a consistent look throughout all the sports pages with a new format along with an embedded video player on each page.
