SEATTLE - The Washington football team will welcome fans on two special Saturdays this spring as the Huskies will host an open practice April 21 at Seattle's Memorial Stadium and the annual Spring Game April 28 at CenturyLink Field.
The open practice on Saturday, April 21, will be held in the shadow of the Space Needle at Seattle Center's Memorial Stadium. It begins at 11:00 a.m. and is free to the public.
The Spring Game, which begins at 1:00 p.m., will be held at the UW's 2012 home stadium, CenturyLink Field, home to the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Sounders FC. Admission is free to all. The Huskies will play the 2012 season at CenturyLink Field before moving back to a renovated Husky Stadium for the 2013 season.
Due to safety concerns and a lack of space near the construction site where Husky Stadium renovations are currently well underway, the UW is unable to accommodate the general public at all other spring practices this year.
"Our players and staff have fed off the energy Husky fans have brought throughout spring seasons," head coach Steve Sarkisian said. "While we aren't able to open all practices, I hope to see a great turnout at both the open practice at Memorial Stadium, and the Spring Game at CenturyLink Field."
Practices get underway on April 2.
