2013 Lorenzo Romar Basketball Camps

Day Camp 1: Covers all aspects of basketball - team, individual, offensive and defensive skills.
Includes skill stations, individual competitions and games. Campers are divided by grade level.

Coach Ivan Lewis and the Husky Strength & Conditioning Staff will conduct their third annual strength camp to develop and enhance proper technique in the weight room as well as athleticism on the field. Campers will be taught and participate in various Olympic Lifts, upper & lower body plyometrics along with agility, quick reaction and balance drills. Athletes will also be educated on the importance of proper nutrition and hydration and how they correlate to peak performance levels. The camp will focus on form and technique. Campers should bring tennis shoes (cleats are optional) and will receive a camp T-shirt. No food will be provided.

The UW football staff will teach campers the fundamentals of the passing game, from both an offensive and defensive perspective. Football Fundamentals Camp

• Campers, entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2013

ALL POSITIONS - Offensive & Defensive Linemen, Quarterbacks, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends, Linebackers, Defensive Backs and Specialists will learn football fundamentals, skills and techniques from the UW football staff and select high school coaches.

Skill position players will be instructed during individual drills and sessions of 1-on-1 and 7-on-7. Linemen will learn the intricacies of playing in the trenches as they rotate through a gauntlet of stations and compete in a session of 1 on 1. Two-way players will have the opportunity to receive instruction at multiple positions if they choose.

Rising Stars Camp

• Campers, entering grades 9-12 in the Fall of 2013
• $240 for 3-Night Campers / $195 for 4-Day Campers

• Thursday 3-9 p.m. / Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. / Saturday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. / Sunday 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Players capable of performing at a high level are encouraged to measure their ability while competing against other highly skilled athletes. Please note that this camp is fast-paced, highly competitive and designed for advanced players. The UW Football staff, select high school coaches, and other college coaches will instruct players on the individual techniques necessary to master their positions. Campers will apply these techniques by participating in zealous one-on-one and group competitions. Players will also gain valuable insight into the recruiting process and become familiar with NCAA and UW eligibility requirements.

Overnight Accommodations
Accommodations in the University of Washington dorms are available only for those campers attending the Rising Stars Camp. For any other camps, there are a number of local lodging options. We recommend the Silver Cloud Inn-University District which is approximately 0.5 miles from Husky Stadium. Rates include a daily complimentary breakfast and shuttle service to campus. Half-Day Camp Options
Half-day options for Football Fundamentals Camp (June 22nd) and the Rising Stars Camp (June 27th -30th) are available, but will not be reflected on the online payment website. The High School Spring Camp is for serious soccer players who want to play at the collegiate level.  The Camp will be held in our Dempsey Indoor Facility.  The Camp will consist of three sessions over a two day span.  A morning session that will mirror a practice for our team at the University of Washington and a night and morning session of competitive games.  The University of Washington Men's Soccer staff will direct the camp and other college coaches from around the Seattle area will also be in attendance.  Player from the UW soccer team will also help direct the camp.  Specialized GK training will be offered. To ensure proper attention and focus on every camper registration will be limited to 60.

Women's Soccer Camps


College ID Academy Sessions for the Elite Player - (NEXT COLLEGE ID SESSION WILL BE HELD END OF FALL/WINTER) The UW Women's Soccer College ID Camp is designed to give players planning on playing soccer in college an idea of what it takes to play at the next level.

Sessions will emulate a college session with respect to the speed of play and the demands of the game. College ID Sessions are a great way to learn what areas to focus on with time to improve before entering college. Every player will receive an evaluation after camp after 2 training sessions as well as a small-sided game environment. Sessions will challenge the elite soccer player to understand the speed of play the college game requires.

Campus Tour, Lunch, T-shirt will be provided.

Session will be closed at 36 applicants. Groups of 12 players with 2 staff members per group.

The UW College ID Academy Sessions caters to the elite player. UW Women's Soccer Staff will cover sessions on; Speed of Play, Attacking and Finishing. Coaches will also expect and train a high level of defending that is demanded at the college level.

If you are interested in playing for UW or another collegiate institution, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your abilities in a smaller, competitive environment. Players from all over the country have spent the day on campus to check out the institution, get to know our staff and the culture that has been a part of our team for many years. Girls Elite Residential Camp - We are no longer hosting an Elite Summer Residential Camp this year. We have College I.D. Sessions Throughout the year that will be updated as they arise. We prefer to see elite players on our campus when our team is in school so players can watch them train and get a closer look at the UW Team while school is in session.

Girls Day Camp #2 07/22/2013 - 07/25/2013 $300.00

SOLD OUT FOR SUMMER OF 2013
Girls Ages 8-16; 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM: Focus is on technical proficiency under pressure, mastery of the ball & an increased tactical awareness. We want players and staff to form a cohesive group and have fun while getting to the next level. Mornings will consist of individual and small group setting for maximum number of touches on the ball. Topics covered will include Dribbling to beat an Opponent, Enhancing 1v1 Defending Skills, Combination Play in Small Groups and Improving the Accurate Long Pass. Afternoon - segment is an intense circuit of skills & games that will rotate every day i.e. soccer tennis competition, dribbling moves to beat a defender, futsol, receiving skills under pressure. Competitive games that improve skill and have a higher touch rate than an 11-aside. Each day will end in scrimmages highlighting proper technique and decisions that coincide with the topic of the day. Goalkeeper Training will be available at this camp. GK's expected to train in goal and on the field.

Day Camp 1 July 8-11 Monday-Thursday for 9th-12th graders SOLD OUT
Day Camp 2 July 17-20 Wednesday-Saturday for 8th-10th graders SOLD OUT
Day Camp 3 July 22-25 Monday-Thursday for 6th-9th graders SOLD OUT
***All Day Camps will run 9:00am-3:30 pm***

 

Night Camp 1 July 8-10 Monday-Wednesday for 4th-8th graders $145 5:00-8:00pm
Night Camp 2 July 17-19 Wednesday-Friday for 4th-8th graders $145 5:00-8:00pm
Night Camp 3 July 22-24 Monday-Wednesday for 4th-8th graders $145 5:00-8:00pm
***All Night Camps will run 5:00-8:00 pm for 3 nights ***

 

Boys ONLY Camp July 17-19 Wednesday-Friday for 4th-8th graders $145 5:00-8:00pm
***Boys camp will be ONLY for boys and will be run separately from the girls in Night Camp.***

 

High School Team Camp
July 13-15 Saturday-Monday for HS teams to come to camp with their coaches
Camp hours: July 13th from 9am - 9pm July 14th from 9am - 9pm July 15th from 9am - 3pm
Commuters $375 per player Residents $450 per player

 


Teams must bring a minimum of 14 players.
