The University of Washington announced some exciting news Sunday afternoon with Xavier's Kevin McGuff leaving a highly successful program to become the ninth women's basketball coach in UW history.
During McGuff's tenure at Xavier, his teams reached the postseason in each of his nine seasons, including six NCAA Tournament appearances. McGuff's move to Seattle created more than a few ripples both here and in Cincinnati. Here are a few of the best stories on the announcement. First was the report from UW Director of Writing Gregg Bell, who had a chance to talk with McGuff and athletic director Scott Woodward prior to the announcement.
