Q&A With Daniel Gray

A senior forward from Tacoma, Wash., Daniel Gray will play his final two home games at Husky Soccer Stadium this weekend. Despite playing just one season with the Dawgs, he has made an immediate impact on the team and has 4 goals and three assists on the year. He sat down with www.gohuskies.com for a Q&A.

 

Gohuskies.com: What is a pet peeve of yours?

Daniel Gray: "When people don't say bye on the phone."

 

GH: What is your pre-game superstition?

DG: "If I told you then they wouldn't work!"

 

GH: What is the best present you have ever received?

DG: "My family."

 

GH: If you were trapped on a desert island with one teammate, who would you want to be stranded with and why?

DG: "Stephen Fung because he knows how to work the islands, being from Hawaii."

 

GH: What's your favorite board game?

GH: "The game of Life."

 

GH: Why should others become involved in the great sport of soccer?

DG: "Others should become more involved because it's more than just a sport. It brings so many different people together on a common ground."

 

GH: If you could train with any professional athlete who would you chose and why?

GH: "Tiger Woods because I feel like he knows what hard work and dedication mean on the training ground."

 

GH: What is one of the most important things your parents did in your upbringing?

DG: "They let me make my own decisions and supported me in whatever I did."

 

GH: What don't people outside of your hometown know about where you grew up that you think they should know?

DG: "Tacoma is the best.  The 253 is the perfect 10. You can't judge it unless you've lived there."

 

GH: What do you know now about the game of soccer that you wish you would've known when you started playing the sport?

DG: "The more you play the more you enjoy it."

 

GH: What is one characteristic a person needs to be a champion?

DG: "Consistency."

 

GH: What do you want to leave as a legacy at UW?

DG: "To be one of the most successful and hardworking teams in the programs history."
