Q&A With Nick James

Nick James is a junior midfielder from Kirkland, Wash. He has played in 12 games and started five in his Husky career. He sat down with www.gohuskies.com for a Q&A.

 

Gohuskies.com: What is a pet peeve of yours?

Nick James: "Bad manners."

 

GH: What is your pre-game superstition?

NJ: "I'm not superstitious."

 

GH: What is the best present you have ever received?

NJ: "I never got my dirt bike..."

 

GH: If you were trapped on a desert island with one teammate, who would you want to be stranded with and why?

NJ: "(Stephen) Fung. He is easy going and probably knows the island landscape better than anyone else."

 

GH: What's your favorite board game?

NJ: "Trouble."

 

GH: Why should others become involved in the great sport of soccer?

NJ: "It's a lot of fun and everyone can play."

 

GH: If you could train with any professional athlete who would you chose and why?

NJ: "I would train with Ussain Bolt and hopefully his speed would rub off on me."

 

GH: What is one of the most important things your parents did in your upbringing?

NJ: "They instilled a good work ethic in me."

 

GH: What do you know now about the game of soccer that you wish you would've known when you started playing the sport?

NJ: "It takes a very large amount of practice to play at higher levels."

 

GH: What is one characteristic a person needs to be a champion?

NJ: "Hard work."

 

GH: What do you want to leave as a legacy at UW?

NJ: "I worked hard and was a valued member of the team."
