Q&A With Brianna SweeneyBrianna Sweeney is a freshman for the UW women's soccer team and earned the start in her first collegiate game at Seattle U last Friday. Sweeney sat down with www.gohuskies.com for a Q&A before the team heads off to Massachusetts this week.
Brianna Sweeney: "When PLEASE PRESS CLEAR flashes across the microwave and you can't see what time it is." GH: What is your pre-game superstition? BS: "If I don't have butterflies in my stomach from being nervous then I GET nervous I won't play well." GH: What is the best present you have ever received? BS: "A plane ticket." GH: If you were trapped on a desert island with one teammate, who would you want to be stranded with and why? BS: "Hillary Zevenbergen because she would take care of me like the Wendy Worrier she is." GH: What's your favorite board game? BS: "Balderdash." GH: Why should others become involved in the great sport of soccer? BS: "It is a global sport and can bring people with all different backgrounds together for fun." GH: If you could train with any professional athlete who would you chose and why? BS: "Sarah Burke, a women's freeskier, because I miss the snow and mountains!" GH: What is one of the most important things your parents did in your upbringing? BS: "They made me be independent." GH: What don't people outside of your hometown know about where you grew up that you think they should know? BS: "Woodinville has the best outdoor movies in the summer." GH: What do you know now about the game of soccer that you wish you would've known when you started playing the sport? BS: "I wish I would have known I would end up playing center-back so I could have just a few more years of experience under my belt in that position." GH: What is one characteristic a person needs to be a champion? BS: "Never-ending determination." GH: What do you want to leave as a legacy at UW? BS: "Hopefully just a bunch of laughs."
