| No Comments | No TrackBacks

In one of the fastest growing leagues in the country, two former Huskies are shining on the field, while another continues on as an assistant coach.

2006 graduate Mike Chabala is having a noteworthy season with the Houston Dynamo. Although Houston as a team is struggling in seventh place out of eight in the Western Conference, Chabala has started 17 out of 19 MLS games. He has netted one goal in the 2010 MLS season, and recently played a full 90 minutes in an Aug. 8 match in Seattle against the Sounders.

FC Dallas defender George John is making a name for himself in the MLS, starting all 18 league games this season. He has been an intricate part of a team that hasn't lost since May 20, a nine-game streak. FC Dallas currently sits in third place in the Western Conference.

Ian Russell is currently in his second season as an assistant coach for the San Jose Earthquakes, who are in sixth place in the Western Conference, but still in playoff contention. Besides being involved in daily team activities, Russell works with scouting international and college players.
