Vote For Hope Solo For WPS Player of the Month
Former Washington standout Hope Solo is one of six players up for April's WPS Player of the Month after she led the Saint Louis Athletica to a 1-0-2 record over the first month of the 2010 season.
Solo recorded a shutout in the season's first match, a 2-0 win over FC Gold Pride, making six saves in the match. She also played solid in a pair of 1-1 draws recently against the Chicago Red Stars and Boston Breakers. Solo is second in the WPS through one month with a 0.67 GAA, 17 saves and a 0.89 save percentage. Fans can vote online for the Player of the Month award, with 33% of the vote determined by media, another 33% determined by teams and the final 33% determined by fans. Two other former Huskies have seen time on the pitch for the Athletica, including Tina Ellertson, who has started all three games and recorded one assist.
