Sunday Football News Roundup

A tremendous day on Montlake for Husky fans Saturday. With the sun shining and the wind having subsided since last weekend, a crowd of something like 2,000 fans was on hand for the sixth practice of the spring football season at Husky Stadium. In the meantime, both the Husky baseball and softball teams were posting wins over Arizona.

The newspapers had plenty so say about Saturday's football, as a good slice of the practice was reserved for scrimmage time. Here's a look at what was written:

• Dave Boling covered for the Tacoma News-Tribune. He, like Coach Sark and Jake Locker, was impressed with several of the Husky freshmen.

• Scott Johnson of the Everett Herald has a pair of stories. First is a profile of LB Cort Dennison. Johnson also penned this story on the scrimmage. He was also impressed with the freshmen on the Husky offense.

• Guess what? Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times thought the freshmen looked good at the scrimmage. It's unanimous. Here's what he wrote.

• Finally, lots of coverage at gohuskies.com, including post-practice video from both Coach Sark and quarterback Jake Locker.

Sunday and Monday are off for the football team, at least in terms of practice. They'll be back at it again this week with practices Tuesday and Thursday at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
