Spring Practice Day 9

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

The third of five weeks of Husky Football spring practice has come to a close today after an afternoon workout at Husky Stadium.

The Dawgs held a full-pads workout Saturday afternoon for just over two hours, with the last portion of the day consisting of a scrimmage period. There was also a lot of time spent in 7-on-7 drills.

Early in that period, highlight plays were turned in by a couple of UW receivers. Quarterback Jake Locker hooked up with Jermaine Kearse on a post route that covered about 50 yards for one score and Devin Aguilar made a great catch going into the endzone at the pylon for another score.

The practice also constituted the last part of the annual UW Coaches Clinic, so there were about 300 high school and college coaches on hand, mixing with a crowd that probably numbered around 1,000.

There were also a good number of former Husky football players in attendance. Among those were Brad Vanneman, Morgan Rosborough, Rod Jones, Greg Alex, Tom Flick, Ryan Fleming (a member of the referee crew), Spencer Marona, Michael Braunstein, Hugh Millen Rod Jones and Hall of Famers Bob Schloredt and Rick Redman. Apologies to others who were there but not spotted.

Next up for the Dawgs is two days (Sunday and Monday) away from the practice field before the fourth week starts up. Tuesday and Thursday, practices are at 4 p.m. and next Saturday, it gets underway at 1 p.m.
