Roundup of Windermere Cup Coverage
The Windermere Cup has always been one of the most-anticipated athletic events the University of Washington hosts. With Oxford in the fold for the 24th annual race, the interest has spiked considerably.
Here's a look at the stories that have come out from this week's press event, which was held on Wednesday at the Conibear Shellhouse. » The Seattle Times took a look at Oxford's storied history and a big-picture perspective of the Boat Race. » The Everett Herald profiled Syracuse men's coach Dave Reischman, a local product who grew up in Arlington, Wash. » The Associated Press also put forth an in-depth look into the Dark Blues from Oxford. » Make sure to check out this excellent feature on Husky captain Ty Otto in the UW Daily. 1 CommentLeave a commentIMPORTANT LINKSMOST RECENT POSTS

Why can't Seattle throw a really good party, and make some money for the UW Crew? Next year, we need a few banners and flags for color (where were the Union Jacks and purple-and-gold banners off the bridge?), and some food and specialty coffees for the ordinary spectators. Also, a PA system (and a program telling specifically who is racing in which lane)would be nice. Finally, to complement the UW Band in the western park, how about the Alumni band up near the bridge (where you can't hear any music)? Let's be more festive!
