Women's Soccer Getting Ready for Ole Miss
The Washington women's soccer team made a much shorter trip for the NCAA Tournament this season compared to their long trip to College Station, Texas, last year for the First and Second Rounds. This year, the Dawgs have been sent to familiar territory as they'll play Ole Miss in the First Round at Merlo Field in Portland. The Huskies played on Portland's home field earlier this season in the Nike Portland Invitational, where they went 1-1 against Illinois and Miami, and annually play at least two - sometimes three - games at Merlo Field.
The Huskies bussed down to Portland shortly after 10 a.m. on Thursday, arriving at the UP campus at 2 p.m. after stopping for lunch along the way. The Dawgs went straight from the bus to the practice field for a spirited training one-hour session. After senior Alex Kirk was victorious in the team Rock-Paper-Scissors contest, the group checked into their hotel and rested up before a dinner at Stanford's and a team meeting to end the busy day. The Huskies play Ole Miss on Friday at 4 p.m. before host and No. 2 seed Portland faces Denver at 7 p.m. The winners will face off Sunday at Noon. 1 CommentLeave a commentIMPORTANT LINKSMOST RECENT POSTS
