O'Brien Awards Visit Seattle
Robert Guajardo with LComm Marketing & Public Relations traveled to Seattle to publicize Jake Locker's involvement as a semifinalist for the award and to encourage fans to visit www.voteobrien.org to vote. LComm handles marketing and promotions for the award and generally attends a football game for each of the award's semifinalist. UW did not have a home football game scheduled during the fan voting period, so they decided to attend the hoops game, rather than not support Jake's candidacy. Locker started the fan voting a few weeks ago with a rather substantial lead and is now sitting in third-place with nearly 13,000 votes. Texas' Colt McCoy is leading the fan vote, followed by Tim Tebow of Florida. After visiting with Guajardo and some of the O'Brien Award marketing staff helping at the event, Locker attended last night's game, a 111-55 Washington victory over Portland State and was interviewed live courtside during the FSN Northwest telecast. After taking this week off from competition, the Husky football team returns to the field on Saturday, Nov. 28 for the annual Apple Cup contest against in-state rival Washington State. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (TV: FSN Northwest) with The Zone scheduled to open at 11 a.m. A limited number of tickets remain available by calling (206) 543-2200. 2 CommentsLeave a commentIMPORTANT LINKSMOST RECENT POSTS
