Some notes and observations from the game so far: --The Huskies got off to a slow start scoring just 18 points in the first 10 minutes, but Central managed just seven during that same span. The Huskies made their strongest push in the final 2:48, rattling off 11 points. --Quincy Pondexter scored seven points in the first 20 minutes but scored seven points in the first four minutes of the second half. --Washington shot 12-of-20 from the free throw line in the first half, a number that they will need to improve as the season progresses. --Tyreese Breshers had a nice first half scoring six points, blocking a shot and grabbing two rebounds. He was a nice presence down low and was able to draw several fouls. --Every healthy Husky saw action in the first half. Justin Holiday stayed on the bench, which was planned in advance. This is a great thing for the university of Washington, the mens basketball team is jelling and this year will be one of the best if not the best. Excellent coach and a sound cast of young men who seem to have their heads on strait. We look foward to the excitement.
