Waitley Named to TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of Week
Washington junior McKenna Waitley has been named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Week, which includes 12 top performers from last week's action.
Waitley scored three of UW's four goals over the weekend, including the game-winner in each of their two victories. She recorded her first career two-goal game on Friday as UW defeated Gonzaga, 3-1, and scored the only goal in UW's 1-0 win on Sunday over Montana, which came just 20 seconds into the second half. For the season, Waitley is tied for second on the team with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) and is tied for the team lead in assists. Her three goals are one shy of the team lead, shared by senior Veronica Perez and sophomore Kelli Stewart. On the strength of their two victories last weekend and their 8-2-1 overall record heading into conference play, the Huskies have moved up to a season-high 14th in the TopDrawerSoccer.com rankings, up 11 spots from last weekend. They are also ranked No. 33 in the RPI rankings which were released today for the first time this season. 1 CommentLeave a commentIMPORTANT LINKSMOST RECENT POSTS
