UW Men's Hoops To Host Preseason Tip-off Event

The Washington Husky men's basketball team will begin its defense of last year's Pac-10 regular season title on Friday, October 16 - the first official day the NCAA allows Division I hoops teams to begin practicing. Husky fans are invited to come out to Bank of America Arena for a special "First Day of Practice" celebration/preview event.

The third-ranked UW volleyball team will host UCLA at 6 p.m. (it was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. but was moved up to accommodate this event). Afterward, the Husky men's basketball team will take the court.

Plans currently include team introductions, a full-squad scrimmage and a dunk contest. Word on the street is that head coach Lorenzo Romar will serve as the emcee and that the event will be nationally televised!
