WGolf-TeamDSCN0070.JPGThe time has come, we are finally in New Zealand!  This trip has been in the works for over two years and everyone is excited the day is finally here.   Our first thing to overcome was our 13 hour flight to Auckland.

It took us awhile to get through customs due to the soil on our golf shoes.  New Zealand is very protective of their land.  We met our driver and tour guide and loaded our luggage into the bus.  Having a bus driver is very nice especially because people drive on the opposite sides of the road compared to the United States.

We all checked in and settled into our hotel rooms.  Shortly after we decided to do some exploring in Auckland.  It was about 10 am and we wouldn't have minded a nap but we know we have to stay up to adjust to the time change. We all took a walk to Takapuna beach which was only a 5 minute walk from our hotel.

We wanted to make our way downtown and ended up taking a ferry into the city.  It was beautiful and at times reminded us of Seattle.  The even have a Sky Tower which is similar to the Space Needle that offers great views as well as bungee jumping.

In action on the golf course, the University of Washington Huskies defeated the Gulf Harbour Club Team by 13 strokes.  The low individual in the match was Molly Arronsson with a 73 and in second place was Karinn Dickinson with at 74.
