Celebrating Victory!Long after the final gun sounded, the post-game interviews were over and Husky Stadium's parking lots emptied, last night's 19-point victory over Idaho will go down as one of the more satisfying non-conference wins for Washington football in quite a while. Sure, there have obviously been bigger victories in Husky history. But, how many times have the South bleachers remained nearly full in the waning minutes of a game that had long since been decided? How many times have fans danced in the streets after a win over a team it was favored to beat by three touchdowns? After suffering through a difficult stretch of disappointment, Husky fans, players and coaches deserve to celebrate. Yes, third-ranked and undefeated USC comes to town in just six days and the hype machines will certainly be cranked up to 11. But, for now, the Huskies are basking in the joy of victory and it feels pretty good. The Seattle Times' Jerry Brewer says the Husky football team enjoys that winning feeling, while the paper also has several game stories and sidebars - including this story on D'Andre Goodwin and another on Mason Foster. In Tacoma, columnist John McGrath writes about how the Huskies got a refresher on how to celebrate a victory. Everett's Rich Myhre takes a look at the offensive performance of Johri Fogerson, following his move back after a year on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage. Greg Johns of Seattlepi.com analyzed the maturity of Jake Locker as a college quarterback under the new coaching staff. From the other side of the state, the Spokane Spokesman-Review, the Lewiston Tribune and the Moscow-Pullman Daily News filed reports from the game. If you are interested in watching a replay of the game, FSN Northwest is planning to televise the game again on Monday at 11 a.m. Check local listings. Might also check Fox College Sports (FCS). Any of the three FCS channels could replay the game during the week as well.
