Basking In The Glow Of VictoryConsidering that Washington football has been through such a disappointing stretch the last few years and started out the season facing, arguably, the toughest first three games in all of college football - can you believe the Dawgs are just eight points away from being undefeated? Only a season-opening 31-23 loss to top-10 ranked LSU stands as a blemish on the UW's record. The Huskies rebounded with a resounding 42-23 win over Idaho last week before shocking the football world with its incredible 16-13 victory over No. 3 ranked USC yesterday. For complete coverage of the game, including notes, quotes, stats, video interviews, photo galleries (there are are some awesome shots from Max Waugh - you can buy them online through Replay Photos) and a complete game recap on GoHuskies.com. If you want to re-live the game in all its glory, apparently ESPNU will be televising it again this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. The athletic department is also working on a deal to try to make the game available for sale on DVD. Details would be announced, hopefully, on Monday or Tuesday. Here is a wrap-up of some of the news coverage from the game: The Seattle Times had a bevy of writers offering various views of the game. Bob Condotta had this recap of the game. Steve Kelley lauded Jake Locker for his leadership in the last 4:00 of the game. Jerry Brewer said there was one word that described the win.. Wow. Tacoma News Tribune's Todd Milles says happy days are back for the Huskies, while John McGrath believes the USC win will go down as one of the best in school history. Milles also wrote a sidebar on the solid play of the UW linebacking corps. Popular Everett Herald scribe Scott Johnson says that the Huskies rule the day in his game recap and also wrote a second story about how the UW linebackers worked all summer to prove themselves. Johnson, who must have been the busiest guy around yesterday, also wrote a story about how proud former Husky QB Chris Chandler was of the Dawgs' victory. The SeattlePi.com's Art Theil says that Sarkisian's revival of the Husky program is going pretty quickly. Greg Johns felt Locker's play was the difference in the game. For a SoCal perspective, a number of media outlets are quick to offer up an explanation of USC's loss, including the Los Angeles Times, the Riverside Press Enterprise (which included a nice note on the UW's local product - Chris Polk), the L.A. Daily News and the Orange County Register. 3 CommentsLeave a commentIMPORTANT LINKSMOST RECENT POSTS

As an Oregon Duck and Texas Longhorn fan, I was dang proud of the Huskies this week. Way to go!!! I'm glad to have you back as a possible contender. The NW rivalry is way more fun when you're in the game.
Proud to send my son from SoCal up to UW this week where they made this Husky mom very happy. I can finally say "we" beat USC as we are part of your family now. Great team work. Go Huskies! Go UW!
