The Sportswoman of the Year award is just another of the several awards Lawrie has been nominated for following a dream season in which she led the Huskies to their first-ever softball National Championship. Lawrie was named the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year before leading the Huskies to the title, after which she was named the Women's College World Series Most Outstanding Player along with winning the Honda Award winner for softball. She was also a finalist for the national Honda Award as well as an ESPY Award nominee for Top Female Collegiate Athlete.
