Fans of basketball worldwide are learning more and more about something Washington basketball fans have known for years... Brandon Roy is one special person and a simply phenomenal basketball player.

The all-star Portland Trail Blazer recently signed a new deal that will keep him in the Rose City for the next several years - long enough for the franchise to win a few rings, says Vince Thomas in a column posted today.

Thomas says... "Yeah, I said it: Roy and the Blazers might cop a couple rings within the next six seasons. Portland has that much potential and, perhaps more importantly, Roy is that good."
