Husky Ballpark: Famous Worldwide

An unusual scene at Husky Ballpark yesterday when FC Barcelona, the Spanish soccer club in town to play Seattle Sounders FC, used some of its morning practice session to work on their baseball skills.

Funny to see some of the world's most famous athletes trying out a sport it's likely none of them have ever played before. And that photos of them swinging the bats on the Husky Ballpark turf are even showing up on soccer gossip blogs in Europe (this one, for instance).

The UW athletic department was proud and happy to host the Spanish and European champions during their stay in Seattle.

I went to the game and FCB was simply the most incredible team i have ever seen in person. Puyol is the greatest defendor in the world and Messi is just magical. i wish i could have seen them practice at the uw.
