Softball Lands Safely in OKC

The Washington softball team touched down in Oklahoma City Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m., leaving Atlanta behind after a week-long stay.

The Huskies went for a light practice this afternoon and will head over to ASA Hall of Fame Stadium for opening ceremonies tonight. Tomorrow is a full day of ESPN interviews, practice and a press conference for head coach Heather Tarr and pitcher Danielle Lawrie. The rest of the day is for rest and relaxation before the Huskies and Georgia kick off the Women's College World Series Thursday at Noon local time (10 a.m. PT).

Check back in to the Dawg Blawg to find out if Danielle Lawrie is named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year and for some photos from opening ceremonies.

UPDATED -- Lawrie was named the National Player of the Year!  You can read about it on GoHuskies.com.
