Roy Invited To USA Basketball Minicamp

Former UW star and current Portland Trailblazer Brandon Roy is reportedly among 24 players invited by USA Basketball to attend a minicamp in preparation for the 2010 World Championships that will be held in Turkey.

Roy, a two-time NBA All-Star who had his UW #3 jersey retired last winter, could join LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and the core of the 2008 Olympic basketball champions who will be looking to be back in USA uniforms next summer.

Blazers teammates LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden are among the 19 commitments USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo has received for the July 22-25 camp in Las Vegas, which will culminate with a blue-white exhibition game.

Recently, Roy was named a second-team all-NBA selection this season.
