Road Trip Continues... Huskies Move On To Oklahoma City

The around-the-country road trip for the Husky softball team continues this week when they travel to Oklahoma City, the mecca of women's college softball. UW swept Georgia Tech over the weekend to advance to the Women's College World Series for the ninth time overall and the second time in the last three years.

The team will take Monday to rest up in Atlanta, hit up the Lenox Square Mall and of course gets some study hall in before boarding a plane Tuesday morning for OKC. The girls are feeling a little more rested this Monday than they were last Monday after finishing their game at 1 a.m. This one ended at the more reasonable hour of 3 p.m.

The 15-inning game against UMass in the Regionals last week feels like it was a month ago. It's been a long trip for the team, which has not been in Seattle since they first boarded an Ameristar jet at Boeing Field on May 13. The traveled 2,963 miles to Massachusetts, another 1,087 to Atlanta and now will make the 848-mile jaunt to Oklahoma City. They hope to make the 2,001-mile trip back to Seattle to cap their 6,899-mile road trip with a little hard ware for the fans to see!

Watch the Dawgs on ESPN, Thursday at 10 a.m. PT when they take on the Georgia Bulldogs.
