NCAA Golf Day One Begins Wet

Practice Day 087.jpgIf the UW men's golf team was looking forward to getting out of the Pacific Northwest and seeing more sunny skies in the Midwest, they are sorely disappointed.  The NCAA championships began this morning under grey skies, then about an hour into the first round the rain began.

Washington is expected to tee-off on #10 at about 1:00 local time (Eastern), assuming the early rounds aren't delayed due to the weather.  It is expected the teams will play through the rain, which is expected to continue during the first two days of the tournament, but will stop if lightning begins.

GoHuskies.com will have coverage of each day's events during the tournament.  Check out yesterday's photos, notes and quotes - including an interesting revelation by Matt Thurmond that, apparently, Nick Taylor is the "world's greatest Mario Kart player."  Seems that practice does pay off!
