Durocher Looking To Return To Football

Most Husky fans remember the inspirational story of Johnny Durocher, the former UW quarterback who suffered a vicious hit against Stanford in the fall of 2006. After the injury, doctors were looking into a probable concussion, but found something far more serious - a brain tumor. He underwent successful surgery to remove the tumor and, rightfully so, doctors suggested he never play football again.

Durocher then turned his focus to baseball. He joined the UW baseball team that spring and performed well enough to be drafted by the Seattle Mariners. He spent several months pitching in the minors before deciding baseball wasn't his career path. Durocher missed football.

He is current training in hopes of returning to the sport he loves. Check out this great blog entry on the IMG Academies website.
