SEATTLE -- The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced the 2014 Pocock All-America award winners Monday morning. Three women from the University of Washington rowing team made the cut. Three seniors from the varsity 8+ crew were honored: Maddie Cordner and Kirstyn Goodger were named to the first team and Ruth Whyman to the second team.

These athletes will add another accolade to their list after an excellent season. The highlight of the season came at the 28th annual Windermere Cup regatta where the women’s V8+ crew, including Cordner, Goodger and Whyman, bested the visiting national team boat from Great Britain.

The same boat took home silver at the Pac-12 Championships, which helped the team place second overall, and took home fourth at NCAA Championships in an extremely well-contested grand final between the fastest boats in the country.
