SEATTLE – The University of Washington gymnastics team will host the No. 12 Oregon State Beavers and crosstown foe Seattle Pacific for their last regular season competition Friday March 14 at 7:00 p.m. in Alaska Airlines Arena. Live stats will be available here, live video will be streamed here and as always follow along with the team on twitter (@UWGymnastics) for the most up to the minute information.

In celebration of her career and all she has done for the program lone senior Aliza Vaccher will be honored after the meet.

As a Husky, Aliza has had a stellar career including a team MVP award, a 2012 second-team All-Pac-12 Academic Team selection, a 2013 first-team All-Pac-12 Academic Team selection and 16 individual event titles. She also took second place in the all-around at NCAA Regionals her freshman year, earned two NCAA Nationals all-around berths and won an NCAA Regional vault title with a career high 9.925 performance. She is the only Husky in history to ever win vault at Regionals. Aliza also holds career highs of 9.875 on bars, 9.900 on beam and 9.925 on floor.

“We’re so proud of Aliza,” head coach Joanne Bowers said. “She has brought so much to our team this year, she has been our rock. We are going to miss her immensely.”

After battling some injuries, the past couple of weeks the GymDawgs are excited to see a couple of gymnasts back into the line-ups.

Freshman Janae Janik who got hurt during vault warm-ups two weekends ago at Utah will be back on bars for the Huskies and junior McKenzie Fechter will make her season debut on floor after rehabbing leg injuries that kept her from tumbling in pre-season.

OSU is coming off of a road win at fellow conference opponent 20th-ranked Arizona where they out-scored the Wildcats 197.050-196.275. SPU dropped a road meet to No. 16 Boise State after tallying a 193.350.

The Huskies have seen the Falcons once already this season. That match-up at Brougham Pavilion saw a UW victory with a final score of 193.925-193.425.

This is the last meet for Washington before they head back to Berkeley to take on the stacked conference field at Pac-12 Championships on March 22 and then head home to prepare for hosting NCAA Regional Championships on April 5 at 4:00 p.m. PT.
