281 Trillion Colors: The New Video Experience Inside Husky Stadium

Remember when having a video board beyond the east bleachers was good enough?

New Husky Stadium is more than nine times better than that.

The $250 million renovation includes nine – count ‘em, 9 – video boards from literally every angle inside the stadium. And none of them block the unique views fans inside have of Lake Washington and the Cascades to the east.

The main video board beyond the new east grandstand is the jewel. It is a 31.2-foot-high, 108-foot-wide Daktronics DVX-502-series display, the type of ultra-sharp screen found inside New York’s Times Square. It is wider than it is tall, maintaining Husky Stadium’s iconic, picturesque views of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains to the east.

The big board is 24 feet wider than the largest, main video board in CenturyLink field, home of the NFL Seattle Seahawks. The manufacturer states the main Husky Hi-Def board can display in 281 trillion-- with a “t” -- colors.
