SEATTLE - Husky rookie Kelsey Plum has been named a Freshman All-American by FullCourt.com. One of the leading media outlets for women's basketball honored Plum for her sensational first season at UW that included her becoming the single-season Husky scoring leader.
Plum was honored by the Pac-12 as the Freshman of the Year, while also joining teammate Jazmine Davis on the All-Conference First Team.
Plum was a major contributor as the Huskies made it three-straight 20-win seasons, advancing to the fourth round of the WNIT. She finished the season averaging 20.9 points per game, while her 712 points were an all-time record at Washington for a single season.
Plum also set Husky record with 203 free throws and 240 free throw attempts. Her 203 free throws made were 54 more than any player in UW history and ranked first in the Pac-12 and tied for 11th nationally in that category.
The freshman combined with Davis to form the second-highest scoring backcourt in the nation, averaging 39.7 points per game.
Plum and the Dawgs will be back with high expectations next season, returning four starters as they look to take the next step into the NCAA Tournament.
