Pac-12 Release

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Husky senior Mercedes Wetmore was honored with the release of the Pac-12 All-Academic teams on Wednesday as announced by the conference offices. Wetmore was named Second Team All-Academic, while teammates Aminah Williams and Mathilde Gilling earned honorable mention honors.

Wetmore has been an iron woman for the Huskies, tying the all-time mark for games played on Monday. She will become the all-time UW leader in games on Wednesday night in the third round of the WNIT. This season, she ranks second in the Pac-12 in minutes played, including playing the full 40 minutes in 14 of 18 conference games.

Wetmore ranks second in the league in assist to turnover ratio and fourth in assists. She has also been getting it done in the classroom with a 3.46 GPA in communications. Wetmore will graduate this spring and hopes to pursue a career in real estate and as an entrepreneur.

Williams is earning honorable mention All-Academic for the second straight season, while Gilling earns the honor for the first time. Williams leads the Huskies in rebounds at 10.3 and recently moved into the top-40 in Pac-12 history in rebounding. Gilling has been a key reserve for the Dawgs off the bench coming from her native Denmark.

The Dawgs will continue their season on Wednesday night for the third round of the WNIT. Game time is set for 7 p.m. as the Huskies welcome San Diego to Alaska Airlines Arena.
