WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Not only does Washington excel on the baseball field, but they have proved themselves to be excellent students. The team had a cumulative grade point average above 3.00 in the fall and now some individuals are reaping the rewards in the 2014 Pac-12 All-Academic selections announced Monday by the Conference office.
Junior pitcher was the lone Husky to earn first-team honors, while juniors Andrew Ely and Robert Pehl were named to the second team. Braden Bishop and Erik Forgione were honorable mention.
Brigham, who is7-4 with a 2.90 ERA on the field, had a 3.49 GPA in accounting. He had a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall quarter.
Ely, who was also All-Conference, has a 3.36 GPA in Business Administration, while Pehl, the Huskies starting left fielder, has a 3.29 GPA in sociology.
