SEATTLE - Binge-watchers rejoice, as the Husky volleyball team will make a program-record 19 live appearances on television this fall, one on ESPNU and 18 live on the Pac-12 Networks. The conference announced the full conference volleyball slate today, with a record 99 matches set for live broadcast.
Details of UW's non-conference schedule were recently announced, with the full conference season now fully mapped out as well.
Washington's first Pac-12 Networks appearance will be the non-conference match with the Maryland Terrapins on Sept. 18. The following night's match, against NCAA runner-up Wisconsin, will also be televised by the Networks. Both matches now have a start time of 8 p.m. to accomodate TV after initially being scheduled for 7 p.m. The earlier matches each day featuring USC will also be broadcast.
A whopping 17 of Washington's 20 Pac-12 matches will be shown live. All will be on the Pac-12 Networks except for the Nov. 7 home match against the Oregon Ducks, as that match is one of just three conference matches to be picked for broadcast by ESPNU.
For the third straight season, Washington will face two Pac-12 teams just once next season, while completing a home and away series against every other team. This year it will be the Bay Area schools, as Washington will visit California on Sept. 26 in its second Pac-12 match, and then not face the Bears again. The Huskies and Stanford, the last two Pac-12 Champions, will not meet until Nov. 26, the second-to-last match of the regular season, in Seattle.
