 BERKELEY, Calif. – The University of Washington women’s tennis team lost their first match of the 2014 season dropping a 4-0 decision to the eighth-ranked California Golden Bears on Saturday at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.

The Bears won the doubles point with the pairs of Natalie Coronel/Graces Ysidora and Andjela Nemcevic/Julija Lukac each falling 6-3. The Huskies were also swept in the three singles matches Cal needed to get the 4-0 victory and qualify for the ITA National Indoor Championships.

The Dawgs will return to Seattle and host their first home match of the season as they take on BYU, Friday Jan. 31 at 1:30 p.m. at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
