Division I Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars
NORMAN, Okla. -- Husky senior Gerrit Chambers was honored for his work in the classroom with the announcement of the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars. Chambers earned the highest national academic award for the 2013-14 season.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Chambers was a key part of the Husky squad in 2014, including a third-place finish at the The Prestige at PGA West. He was also a part of the Washington squad that placed second at the Pac-12 Championships, finishing T-52nd as an individual.
Chambers graduated with a degree in communication, while maintaining a 3.30 GPA.
