STANFORD, Calif. – After over two weeks off for dead week and final exams, the Dawgs resume play on Friday at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford. The three-day, 54-hole tournament was formally known as the U.S. Collegiate, played at the Stanford Golf Course.

The Goodwin will feature and elite field that includes No. 19 Washington. The other top-25 teams competing are host No. 7 Stanford, No. 14 UAB and No. 22 UNLV. Other teams competing are  Northwestern, Colorado State, San Jose State, Fresno State, TCU, Oregon, UC Davis, USC, St. Mary’s, UCLA, USF, Washington State, San Diego State and Loyola Marymount.

The Dawgs will feature a lineup of Jonathan Sanders, Cheng-Tsung Pan, Corey Pereira, Trevor Simsby and Chris Babcock. Sanders is coming off his first collegiate win at the Bandon Dunes Championship in the Dawgs last tournament, while Pan returns to the team after missing the same tournament while he was in Thailand qualifying for the British Open.

Washington last played in Stanford’s tournament in 2012, finishing 12th. That season, Chris Williams led the Dawgs with a 12th-place finish, while Pan placed 19th. Simsby also has experience at the Stanford Golf Course, playing that season as a sophomore.

The Dawgs have placed in the top three at each of their tournaments so far this spring. Last week, UW placed third at the Bandon Dunes Championship led by Sanders earning the individual title.

Following the Goodwin this weekend, Washington will return home for the Redhawks Invitational on April 7-8. This new tournament hosted by Seattle U. will be played at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash., home of the 2015 U.S. Open.
