NORMAN, Okla. -- Charlie Hughes was named one of 152 Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars for Division I by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Hughes received his degree from the UW Business school this June and graduated with a 3.6 grade point average. He was a two-time first team Pac-12 All-Academic selection and was second team once.

He helped the Huskies to the NCAA Championship three times during his career and the 2010 Pac-10 Championship. He was second-team all-Conference as a sophomore.
