CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 11 Huskies erupted for a five-run 4th inning on their way to a 6-2 victory over Oregon State in six innings on Friday in Corvallis, Ore.

The game was delayed 42 minutes at the start by rain and was halted for 23 minutes before being called at the end of the 6th inning.

Kaitlin Inglesby made the start in the circle for the Huskies (26-12) and held the Beavers (13-27) to two runs on five hits over five innings. Inglesby earned the win to improve to 10-4.

Bryana Walker threw one scoreless inning in relief of Inglesby.

The Beavers opened the scoring in the bottom of the 1st on a two-out single. But the Huskies bounced back in a big way.

Whitney Jones keyed the offensive outburst in the 4th inning with a leadoff single and a stolen base before Kelli Suguro plated her with a single. The next three batters reached base before Kylee Lahners launched her first career grand slam home run to give the Huskies a 5-1 lead. For Lahners, it was her team-leading 13th home run.

Jones and Suguro teamed up again in the 5th, as the Huskies added another run. With one out, Jones singled and stole a base. One batter later, Suguro drove a two-out double to score Jones from 3rd base.

Jones finished 2-for-2, with two runs scored and one walk, while Suguro was 2-for-3, with two RBI.

Jones also helped save a run in the bottom of the 5th. With a runner on 1st base with one out and one run already in, Oregon State centerfielder Dani Gilmore drove a double to left-center field. Jones quickly relayed the ball to shortstop Ali Aguilar who made a strong throw to catcher Dani Braun who applied the tag to the runner to end the inning and prevent the Beavers from adding another run.

The game was called after the end of the 6th inning.

The Huskies return to the field to take on Oregon State on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
