SEATTLE – After opening the season with five straight tournaments on the road, the 5th-ranked Washington Huskies are set to play at Husky Softball Stadium for the first time this year in the PAC-12 opener against Utah at 5:00 p.m. on Friday night.

The Huskies (19-4) began the season with tournaments in Las Vegas, Tempe, Ariz., and three in California but are now ready to play their first of 12 home games against conference rival Utah (9-8).

“We are anxious to get our home season underway,” head coach Heather Tarr said. “One of the best things about Husky Softball is our home crowd. We absolutely love playing in front of our fans.”

The Huskies are 20-2 all-time vs. the Utes. Washington’s last matchup against Utah was in conference play on May 3 -5 last season when the Huskies took two out of three from the Utes.

The Huskies are coming off a 3-2 showing at the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. last weekend, where they knocked off then-No. 5 Michigan, as well as Wisconsin and Texas.
