SEATTLE – The sixth-ranked Huskies travel to Fullerton, Calif. this week to play in the Judi Garman Classic, where they will face two other teams currently ranked in the top 25 nationally. This is the Huskies (16-2) fifth tournament in their preseason schedule and their final one before beginning Pac-12 play on Friday, March 14 vs. Utah at Husky Softball Stadium.

The Huskies will open the four-day Judi Garman Classic with a matchup against No. 5 Michigan (13-3) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Not only is this a showdown of two teams ranked in the top 10, but it is a rematch of last year’s Women’s College World Series when the Huskies defeated the Wolverines, 4-1.

On Friday, the Huskies will face Wisconsin (7-7) at 8:00 p.m.

The Huskies will have a pair of games on Saturday, both of them against teams they have recent history playing. First up is a 5:30 p.m. meeting with the No. 16 Nebraska Cornhuskers (12-6), who the Huskies beat, 4-3, on a walk-off home run by Kimberlee Souza in the first game of the 2013 WCWS.

Then at 8:00 p.m., the Huskies will face Texas (13-9). The Huskies defeated the Longhorns, 3-2, two weeks ago at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

The Huskies will conclude the tournament on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m. against the Fresno State Bulldogs (10-5).
