The USSSA Pride, coached by UW assistant J.T. D'Amico, edged the Chicago Bandits, 2-1, to take the championship for National Pro Fastpitch Saturday night.
The Pride, which also features former Huskies Ashley Charters, Nikia Williams and Jenn Salling, scored single runs in the second and fourth to win the title. The team entered the postseason as the second seed behind Chicago.
Earlier in the day, the Pride beat the Bandits, 5-0, after having fallen in game one of the best-of-three series. Another former Husky, Kimi Pohlman, plays for the Bandits.
