OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -A one out single to centerfield in the bottom of the seventh by Tory Lewis sent pinch runner Whitney Hammond home from third base for a 1-0 victory for the No. 7 Tennessee Lady Vols over No. 11 Washington on Saturday afternoon at the WCWS.

Washington (44-16) plays Michigan on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. PT live on ESPN in an elimination game. Tennessee (51-10) plays in the winner's bracket Sunday night.

The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the Huskies who had also won 10 of their last 11 games.

The Huskies were solid defensively and in the circle but had a tough time at the plate against Tennessee ace Ellen Renfroe. Renfroe allowed just two hits and had 10 strikeouts.

Pitching for the Huskies, junior Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) allowed just the one run on nine hits in 6.2 innings. She was great getting out of tough situations in the game as all three of her strikeouts ended innings; two with the bases loaded.

Juniors Victoria Hayward (Mountain View, Calif.) and Kelli Suguro (Kent, Wash.) had the two Husky hits in the game.

Tennessee left 15 runners on base and ended the first, second and fourth innings with the bases loaded.

Washington's best chances to score were in the fourth and fifth innings as Inglesby, Kimberlee Souza (Waialua, Hawai'i) and Suguro each hit balls deep to the outfield but were caught by the Lady Vols defense.

Fans set a session one record on Thursday at the WCWS for attendance.
