From Simi Valley, Calif., McNeill joined the Huskies out of Notre Dame HS in Sherman Oaks and played for the So Cal Pumas 18 Gold ... in 2009 she was the Notre Dame Female Athlete of the Year and helped her basketball team to the CIF Division III Championship ... in 2010 she was the basketball Defensive Player of the Year and made the CIF Academic Team for softball and basketball ... in 2011, she was MVP of her HS softball team, the Mission League MVP, First-Team All-League, All-CIF Division III and a Los Angeles Daily News All-Valley selection ... she also earned academic honors for the second-straight year ... in 2012 she was the team MVP, league MVP, first-team all-league and earned all-state honors ... in HS her final two years, hit .539 (2001) and .492 (2012), had 80 total hits, 22 RBI and 45 stolen bases out of 47 attempts.

"I chose the University of Washington because I wanted to be challenged both physically and academically, and UW provided that atmosphere for me."

: "Jennie is fast, can play middle infield and bats left-handed," Tarr said. "We expect her to fit in right away and add speed to our line up with the graduation of Kimi Pohlman. She is versatile and will also compete for time in our outfield. Jennie has always wanted to be a Husky since she came on a visit to UW when her brother, who played football at Wyoming, was recruited to play football here several years ago. She is a great student who will be able to thrive in the classroom here."
